So geht's

Step 1: Chill the Glass

  1. Fill a tall highball glass to the brim with large, solid ice cubes.
  2. Stir the ice briefly with a bar spoon to chill the glass, then pour off any melted water.

Step 2: Pour the Whiskey

  1. Pour the blended Scotch whisky directly over the ice.
  2. Stir gently for a few seconds to chill the spirit before adding the mixer.

Step 3: Top with Soda

  1. Tilt the glass slightly and gently pour the chilled soda water down the inside of the glass to preserve the carbonation.
  2. Give the drink a single, gentle lift with your spoon from the bottom to integrate the liquids without losing the bubbles.

Garnitur

A fresh lemon twist expressed over the top of the drink to release the citrus oils, then dropped into the glass.

Alkoholfrei machen

Replace the blended Scotch whisky with 50ml of a non-alcoholic woody or smoky spirit alternative, such as Lyre's American Malt.
