Every Sunday during June, July, and August, the historic garden extends its hours for special summer nights. Step-by-step Plan

Arrive and Explore the Greenhouses (16:00 – 17:30): Enter the garden in the late afternoon. Spend your first hour and a half exploring the impressive glass structures, including the three-climate greenhouse (tropical, subtropical, and desert environments) and the fluttery butterfly house, before taking a peaceful stroll along the outdoor heritage flowerbeds.
Grab a Seat at the Oranjerie (17:30 – 18:15): Make your way to the terrace of the historic Oranjerie. Order a glass of wine, local craft beer, or some light tapas from the seasonal summer menu. Settle in as the first live music session begins at 17:30.
Stretch Your Legs & Enjoy the Second Set (18:15 – 19:30): Use the brief intermission to enjoy the golden hour light hitting the ancient trees. Return to your spot or find a bench nearby to enjoy the second live set starting at 18:30.

Reservations & Hours

The Hortus Botanicus is open late until 20:00 on Sundays in June, July, and August for the summer evening program. Live music sets run from 17:30 to 18:15 and 18:30 to 19:15. Regular admission tickets apply and should be booked online in advance to guarantee entry. Standard adult tickets are €14.75, and student/youth tickets are €7.50. The Museumkaart is not valid here, but holders of the I Amsterdam City Card can enter for free.
