Immerse yourself in centuries of Dutch craftsmanship at the Royal Delft Museum. Founded in 1653, this historic location is the only surviving factory from the Golden Age that still produces traditional Delft Blue pottery. During your self-guided audio tour, you will marvel at historic collections, step onto the factory floor to watch skilled artisans paint intricate designs by hand, and discover how the black paint magically turns to brilliant blue during the firing process.

- Arrive and Collect Audio Guide (15 mins): Head to the entrance on Rotterdamseweg, present your ticket, and grab your personal audio guide (available in 8 languages).
- Explore the Museum Galleries (45 mins): Walk through the beautifully renovated galleries showcasing historic royal collections, antique masterpieces, and contemporary Delftware designs.
- Watch the Artisans at Work (30 mins): Step into the active workshop and factory area. Watch master painters meticulously apply black cobalt oxide paint to the white earthenware.
- Relax in the Courtyard & Brasserie (45 mins): Walk through the tranquil courtyard garden and head to Brasserie1653 for a cup of coffee, a slice of Dutch apple pie, or a light lunch.
- Browse the Flagship Store (25 mins): Finish your visit in the monumental showroom to admire the massive collection of hand-painted and screen-printed souvenirs.
Reservations & Hours
- Hours: Open daily from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Last admission is at 4:30 PM). Special spring hours run from April 1 to May 15, opening early at 9:00 AM.
- Reservations: While walk-ins are welcome, booking online in advance is highly recommended to guarantee your entry timeslot.

- The Color Mystery: Keep an eye out for the pieces waiting to go into the kiln; the paint looks dark gray or black before it is fired, only turning blue afterward.
- Combine Your Trip: The factory is a scenic 15-minute walk or a quick local bus ride from the historic center of Delft.
