How to make it
1. Whisk the Matcha
- Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl or cup to remove clumps.
- Add the hot water and honey (or simple syrup), then whisk briskly in a zig-zag motion until fully dissolved and lightly frothy.
2. Assemble the Base
- Pour the sweetened matcha mixture directly into the bottom of the tall glass.
- Fill the glass completely with ice cubes to help create distinct visual layers.
3. Layer the Milk and Espresso
- Gently pour the milk over the ice cubes, letting it sit atop the green matcha layer.
- Slowly pour the freshly pulled espresso shot directly onto the top ice cubes or over the back of a spoon to create the final dark coffee layer on top.
Garnish
A light dusting of sieved matcha powder on the surface foam.
