How to make it
Preparation
- Place a large ice cube or several fresh ice cubes into a heavy rocks glass.
Build the Drink
- Pour 50ml blended Scotch whisky directly over the ice.
- Add 25ml Drambuie.
Stir & Finish
- Stir gently with a barspoon for about 20 to 30 seconds until thoroughly chilled and lightly diluted.
- Express the oils from the lemon peel over the surface of the drink, rub it along the rim, and tuck it neatly into the glass.

Make it alcohol-free
Replace the Scotch whisky with 50ml of a smoky non-alcoholic malt spirit (such as Lyre's Highland Malt) and swap the Drambuie for 25ml of honey syrup (2:1 honey to warm water) infused with a pinch of ground clove, grated nutmeg, and a drop of herbal bitters.
