Method

Prepare the Oven and Ramekins

  1. Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Lightly grease four individual oven-safe ramekins with a little butter.

Mix the Berry Filling

  1. In a medium bowl, gently toss the mixed berries with 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of plain flour until the fruit is evenly coated.
  2. Divide the berry mixture equally among the prepared ramekins.

Make the Crumble Topping

  1. In another bowl, combine the rolled oats, light brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Add the cold, cubed butter to the mixture. Use your fingertips to rub the butter into the dry ingredients until it clumps together and resembles coarse breadcrumbs.

Assemble and Bake

  1. Scatter the crumble topping generously over the berry filling in each ramekin, covering the fruit completely.
  2. Place the ramekins on a baking sheet to catch any bubbling juices.
  3. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the topping is golden-brown and crisp, and the berry juices are bubbling up around the edges. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
