Bookshops & Bonedust
by Travis Baldree
Why read it
This cozy prequel travels back twenty years before the events of Legends & Lattes, following a youthful, headstrong Viv when she gets sidelined by an injury in a quiet seaside settlement. Instead of hunting necromancers, she finds herself spending unexpected downtime reviving a ramshackle bookstore, forging warm friendships, discovering the joy of reading, and falling into a sweet summer romance. It provides all the comfort, charm, and found-family appeal of the original while working seamlessly as a standalone entry point.
