Cómo prepararlo
Prepare the Glass
- Using a vegetable peeler, slice a long, thin ribbon down the length of a fresh cucumber.
- Press the cucumber ribbon along the inner wall of a chilled highball glass so it clings to the side.
- Pack the glass completely to the rim with large, solid ice cubes to hold the cucumber in place and keep the drink ice-cold.
Build the Drink
- Pour the 50 ml of gin directly over the ice, followed by the fresh lime juice.
- Slowly pour 150 ml of chilled tonic water down the side of the glass to preserve the carbonation.
- Give it a single, gentle lift with a barspoon from the bottom up to integrate the spirits and tonic without knocking out the fizz.
Decoración
A cracked wheel of cucumber rested on top of the ice and an optional tiny slap of fresh mint or a thin lime wheel tucked into the side.
Hazlo sin alcohol
Swap the 50 ml dry gin for 50 ml of a juniper-forward non-alcoholic spirit (such as Seedlip Spice 94, Pentire Adrift, or Tanqueray 0.0%), or simply double down on a splash of quality botanical tonic water with a dash of lime juice.
