Pourquoi le lire
This is an exceptionally fun, modern homage to classic closed-circle mysteries like those of Agatha Christie. By placing a glitzy, high-society wedding on a bleak, storm-swept island off the Irish coast, it creates a deliciously tense backdrop where everyone has something to hide and anyone could be a victim—or a killer.
Où le trouver
In the Netherlands, you can easily find the English edition (or its Dutch translation, 'De gastenlijst') at local public libraries and through the Online Bibliotheek. Digital versions are widely accessible on Kobo, Storytel, Nextory, and Kindle. For physical copies, check online retailers like Bol.com, order via Libris.nl, or visit major bookshops like Athenaeum or Waterstones Amsterdam.
À quoi s'attendre
Expect a highly addictive, fast-paced psychological thriller told through multiple untrustworthy perspectives. The tone is dark, wind-chilled, and dripping with petty social drama that slowly escalates into genuine dread. It is an easy, compelling read, though it does contain mature themes, including references to self-harm, past trauma, and abuse.
