A Very Punchable Face
di Colin Jost
Perché leggerlo
This is an exceptionally funny, self-deprecating memoir by Saturday Night Live's long-time head writer and Weekend Update co-anchor. It is an ideal pick if you want a light, genuinely laugh-out-loud listen that balances absurd and chaotic personal disasters with deep, insider perspectives on live comedy writing.
Dove trovarlo
For listeners in the Netherlands, you can stream the audiobook (wonderfully narrated by Colin Jost himself) on platforms like Storytel and BookBeat, or purchase it on Rakuten Kobo and Google Play. For physical copies or ebooks, you can find them on Amazon.nl and Bol.com, or order them through major Dutch bookshops like Scheltema and Athenaeum Boekhandel. English language sections of larger public libraries (such as the OBA in Amsterdam) may also carry it.
Cosa aspettarsi
Expect a breezy, fast-paced, and highly comedic tone with plenty of dry, sarcastic footnotes. It is incredibly easy to follow and highly entertaining. Content-wise, it features some strong language, hilarious descriptions of bodily mishaps, and one emotionally heavy chapter recounting his mother's harrowing experience as Chief Medical Officer for the FDNY during the September 11 attacks.
