Starter Villain
di John Scalzi
Perché leggerlo
It is an inventive, laugh-out-loud satirical romp that takes classic spy and comic-book supervillain tropes and grounds them in mundane modern absurdities like labor negotiations and corporate politics. An ordinary, down-on-his-luck substitute teacher suddenly inherits his estranged uncle's island volcano lair and global syndicate, only to find the enterprise populated by union-organizing dolphins, hyper-intelligent spy cats, and ruthless venture capitalists.

You can also borrow English digital audiobooks and ebooks through the Dutch public library system (Online Bibliotheek) via Libby/OverDrive if affiliated. Cosa aspettarsi
Breezy, witty, and fast-paced with snappy dialogue and an easygoing difficulty level. Expect a lighthearted action-comedy rather than hard science fiction. Content notes: contains moderate profanity (including delightfully crude dialogue from foul-mouthed marine mammals), comedic action violence, explosions, and satire of corporate greed.
