Classic Gin Sling

50ml London Dry gin
15ml cherry liqueur (such as Cherry Heering or Bols Cherry Brandy)
1 fresh mint sprig

20ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
10ml simple syrup (or 1 tsp superfine sugar dissolved in 1 tsp warm water)
60ml chilled club soda
Handful of ice cubes
1 lemon wheel

Zo maak je het

Build the Drink

Fill a highball glass generously with fresh ice cubes.
Pour in the London Dry gin, cherry liqueur, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup.
Top up with the chilled club soda.

Mix and Serve

Stir gently from the bottom with a long spoon for about five seconds to integrate the flavours without knocking out the carbonation.
Tuck a fresh lemon wheel against the inside of the glass and nestle a mint sprig on top right beside the ice.

Garnering

A fresh lemon wheel and a spapped mint sprig placed on top.

Maak het alcoholvrij

Replace the gin with 50ml of a non-alcoholic botanical spirit (such as Seedlip Spice 94 or Gordon's 0.0%) and swap the cherry liqueur for 15ml of tart cherry juice or grenadine.
